In order to make your camp experience as efficient as possible, we have new check-in and check-out procedures from 2019 onwards. Please read below to familiarise yourself.
When you arrive at Camp, please park and proceed to the Welcome Center. From the Hollenbeck Road entrance, this will be the first building to appear on your right. If you are coming by shuttle from the airport, your driver will drop you off here.
All campers, regardless of transport method, must check in.
For individual bookings:
At check in, please provide your name to the coordinator on duty. They will check you in and inform you of your cabin assignments. If you have any special requests, please let them know. Account balances will also be checked and payment must be made in full by this time.
If this is your first time, we will try to have someone guide you to your cabin if you wish so. Cabins are grouped by age; you may select any available bunk. This is a great time to introduce yourself to those in your cabin. Your cabin counselor(s) will introduce themself in the evening.
For family cabins:
At check in, please provide your name to the coordinator on duty and inform them that you have booked a family cabin. They will check you in; any outstanding payments will be collected at this time. If you have any special requests, please let them know.
You may be given a folder; in this folder you will find a general daily schedule and an information sheet pertaining to your cabin. This sheet will have the entrance code to your cabin so please keep it carefully.
If this is your first time, we will try to have someone guide you to your cabin if you wish so. Please note your guide may need to ride with you in your vehicle to direct you the back entrance of camp if you are staying in one of the smaller family cabins. The address of the back entrance, used only for vehicular access to small family cabins is approximately 4150 Piersonville Road. Please note this is not an official address, just a rough guide. Large family cabins can be reached up the hill by driving past the Welcome Center and keeping left.
Please note that check-in times for family cabins are strictly after 3pm. You are welcome to arrive earlier and store your luggage with us until your cabin is ready.
Please proceed to the Welcome Center and inform the coordinator on duty that you are on your way out. They will proceed to check you out; payments will be checked at this time. If you are travelling on camp transport other than the Toronto or Dearborn shuttles, please confirm your travel with the Welcome Center a day in advance.
Please note all campers, regardless of transport method, must check out before leaving. Family cabin check-out time is strictly by 11am. You are welcome to stay for the rest of the day and store your luggage with us, but your cabin must be empty by this time.
Family cabins, please make sure you leave your cabin as clean as you found it. Camp Taha is almost entirely volunteer-run and while our volunteers are happy to help, it is very difficult for all cabins to be efficiently cleaned in the short window between check-outs and check-ins. While we try our best, your consideration is greatly appreciated in this regard.
When travelling by Toronto or Dearborn shuttles (non-airport)
Your shuttle may drop you off or pick you up in a location other than the Welcome Center, such as near one of the basketball courts. In this scenario, Camp Taha staff will be waiting outside the bus to check you in and assign cabins or to check you out. In this scenario, please wait for the staff to complete the process and provide you with instructions. Please do not leave the area or board the bus until instructed to do so by staff.
We look forward to seeing you there!
